Contemplative Forest Walk
Event description
Do you long to experience a deeper connection with the natural world? Do you sense a kinship with creation but find it difficult to explain what makes that relationship so powerful? Are you interested in learning more about trees as well as listening to their wisdom?
At Kinship Plot, we believe that resonant relationship with the other-than-human world is central to holistic healing, spiritual flourishing, and ecological attunement. Simple practices like walking, listening, observing, breathing with nature are beneficial to our mental, emotional, and relational health. Join us on Sunday, October 27 for a guided walk through one of our favorite forests in the Charlotte area.
During the walk, you can expect times of silence, guided reflection, suggested practices, and opportunities for open interaction. The walk is open to all ages, but given its contemplative nature, we ask that all participants are able to honor extended times of silence. The total distance of the walk is roughly two miles and may be muddy, so wear appropriate attire and bring a water bottle.
We will depart promptly 3pm from the Piedmont Prairie Trailhead near the Mountain Island Kayak Access in Latta Nature Preserve. After entering the preserve, you'll take a right on 60' Access St and drive down to the end, where there are several parking spots near the kayak access. If those spots are full, you can find more parking back up the road by the power line.
This event is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5, which supports Kinship Plot's mission of cultivating resonant relationship of every kind.
