Event description

What is a personal manifesto?

It is a declaration of what you want in life. It helps you prioritize what's important to you and what you want to achieve.

What is a vision board?

It is a  visual manifestation using  collage techniques with images and text.  A vision board can record your values, to motivate, goal set and manifest those goals by visual reinforcement.

A vision board can be all encompassing or focus on one aspect of your life. It can be complicated focusing on a number of things. Or simple. A vision board can be calm or busy.   It’s up to you.

In the workshop we will look at and talk about several artists who work with collage . We will  take from that what suits our vision to explore and express who we are, what is important to us and  what we wish to achieve.

Artists we will look include:

  • Pablo Picasso's work where he integrated words..

  • Hannah Hoch’s collage work  which speaks to the political.

  • Richard Hamilton’s work which commented on popular culture and consumerism.

  • Henri Matisse and his "cut outs".

  • Barbara Kruger and her poster style.

Our focus will be on analogue collage using books and magazines. On enrolment I will send you some You Tube links discussing values and manifestos to help get your thought processes rolling
