The Contra Guitar Duo, comprising the talented Hamish Strathdee and Emma-Shay Gallenti-Guilfoyle, was formed following their meeting at university auditions in 2011.
They have since performed to international acclaim with performance highlights including the Dubai World Expo, Staatsoper Hamburg, Melbourne Guitar Festival and the Darmstädter Gitarrentage.
Their unique blend of contrasting styles and engaging stage chemistry breathes fresh life into the guitar duo format. Their goal is simple: to share music that resonates with them and their audiences, bringing to the stage the full spectrum of emotion and expression that two guitars can offer.
