This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

In this conversation series we plunge deep into the exciting, and often lesser known, world of seaweeds - from their physiology, to the ecosystems around them, and current and future innovative practices in seaweed cultivation and industry.

Speakers will include:

Dr Catriona Hurd - Professor Seaweed Physiology and Ecology at the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies in Hobart.  Professor Hurd studies seaweed physiological ecology, i.e. the physiological responses of seaweeds to their abiotic and biotic environment. In 2015, she won the Phycological Society of America's Gerald Prescott award for her co-authored text book Seaweed Ecology and Physiology (Cambridge University Press).  Dr Hurd is one of the key organisers for the 24th International Seaweed Symposium, taking place in Hobart in February.
