About the Book:
Whether you are a first-time visitor or a long-time Waco resident, this wonderful visual tour of Waco, Texas is an art appreciation delight. Members of the Central Texas Watercolor Society gathered to paint their favorite Waco landmarks, and they did not disappoint. Their ink and wash renditions are a charming display of Waco's history and hidden treasures. The included maps and landmark information allow readers to tour the city through the lens of local artists and learn much about Waco and its diverse and fascinating history.
About the Central Texas Watercolor Society:
Central Texas Watercolor Society (CTWS) was formed in 1985 by ten initial Waco watercolor enthusiasts. Our mission was to educate members and sponsor exhibits to create public interest and better understanding of watercolor as a significant art form and permanent painting medium. CTWS is now over 80 members strong across central Texas and we hold bi-annual workshops with nationally known artists and plan demonstrations for the public to enjoy. CTWS also hangs four or more membership exhibits each year in various public locations. In 2025 we hung exhibits at MCC Performing Arts Building , the Performing Arts Community Center, Holy Spirit Episcopal Church & Olive Branch Restaurant.
