Cook Book Club is the newest addition to Chestnut's book club series. This club is for anyone who loves cooking, cookbooks, and sharing food with others. Cook Book Club works a bit like a book club, but with a delicious twist. Each month we will select a cookbook and gather at the shop to taste the dishes from it while discussing the recipes and stories behind them.

Your ticket will include a copy of the featured cookbook. Before the event, each attendee chooses a recipe from the book to cook and bring along to share. On the night, we'll enjoy a relaxed buffet-style meal featuring everyone's dishes and spend time discussing both the cooking and the stories behind the book.

Many cookbooks today are more than collections of recipes — they include personal essays and reflections. During the evening we will talk about the stories in the cookbook, which often explore themes of culture, identity, family, and politics, and how these ideas shape the food we cook and share.

The evening will run for around 90 minutes and will include:

Introductions and a chance to share the dish you made
Food sharing and tasting from across the cookbook
A guided discussion about the recipes, stories, and cooking experience
A short wrap-up and preview of next month's cookbook

NOVEMBER'S COOK BOOK CLUB PICK IS 'I Want Dopamine for Dinner' by Phoebe Thornburn

Cook Book Club is designed to be welcoming and relaxed, whether you're an experienced home cook or just enjoy trying something new in the kitchen. It's a chance to explore great cookbooks, meet fellow food lovers, share a meal together, and ultimately build community.

The evening is BYO, so feel free to bring along a drink to enjoy with the meal.

Tickets include the price of the cookbook plus a small $5 admin fee, and spaces are limited to keep the event intimate and enjoyable. Once you've purchased your ticket, collect your book in store by showing your ticket to staff.
