What is the Evening About

This is a relaxing night with the Quaker Community to enjoy a good meal cooked by the Quaker Friends, where we will enjoy ourselves and watch an entertaining movie called Harvey.

The major idea is to gather a community to create awareness about men’s issues and to prevent them from going on the dark path of homelessness, violence, and suicide.

What is Counselling Men Project

All the donations and proceeds will go towards the Counselling Men Project: non-for-profit with the vision to end the problems cited above, by offering in-depth counselling for destitute men in Brisbane.

THE MOVIE

About the Movie: Harvey is an old one, produced in 1950. Here is the synapse:

James Stewart gives one of his finest performances in this lighthearted film, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Stewart stars as the good-natured Elwood P. Dowd, whose constant companion is Harvey, a six-foot-tall rabbit that only he can see. To his sister, Veta Louise (Josephine Hull), Elwood's obsession with Harvey has been a thorn on the side of her plans to marry off her daughter. But when Veta Louise decides to put Elwood in a mental hospital, a hilarious mix-up occurs and she finds herself committed instead. It's up to Elwood to straighten out the mess with his kindly philosophy, and his "imaginary" friend, in this popular classic that features a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award-winning performance by Josephine Hull
