Cool Kids, Calm Bodies - Managing Anxiety in Kids on the Autism Spectrum - North Shore
Event description
The team at Children's Autism Foundation presents "Cool Kids, Calm Bodies", a 2‐hour workshop interactive workshop for parents & whanau and any professionals who engage with children and young people on the Autism Spectrum. You will leave this workshop with a better understanding of anxiety in children on the Autism Spectrum and with simple & practical strategies to support your child or the children you work with.
Topics include:
- What is anxiety?
- How does anxiety affect children on the Autism Spectrum?
- Practical strategies & an anxiety "toolkit" to help manage/reduce anxiety & build resilience in children & young people.
Note: your child does not need to have an official ASD diagnosis for you to attend this workshop.
This workshop is FREE for families/whanau/caregivers thanks to support from the Kaipatiki Local Board. $50 for professionals.
TEACHER AIDES & LEARNING ASSISTANTS - you can attend this workshop for free using the MoE Pilot Fund for TA Training. Please contact us for details on how to apply for full funding.
