Description

Build practical Copilot workflows for financial advice, in one day.

A full-day, hands-on workshop for financial advisers, paraplanners and client service teams who want to move beyond basic prompts and start using Microsoft Copilot in practical, repeatable ways.

Stop experimenting. Start putting Copilot to work.

Most advice teams have tried Copilot.

They have used it to draft something, summarise a document or answer a few questions.

The bigger opportunity is working out where it can genuinely take time and friction out of the work your practice already does.

File notes. Client conversations. Advice documents. Reviews. Research. Internal handovers.

The recurring work that still gets done manually every week.

This workshop is built around that gap.

You will spend the day building, testing and improving practical Copilot workflows around real financial advice work.

This is not a day of AI theory.

You will build.

What You Will Build

1. A Better Client Experience

Explore a different way of presenting complex advice information to clients using Copilot.

You will work with your own content and build a clearer, more engaging way of working through that information with a client.

Along the way, you will see how far Copilot can go beyond basic drafting and summarising.

You leave with: a client experience you built yourself.

2. A Meeting-to-File-Note Agent

Create and test a reusable Copilot agent designed to reduce the work involved in producing structured, consistent file notes after client meetings.

You will learn how to give Copilot better instructions, make the process reusable and improve the result when it does not behave the way you expected.

You leave with: a working file-note agent.

3. A Workflow From Your Own Role

Bring one repetitive, time-consuming or frustrating task from your own work.

That might be:

  • Client review preparation

  • Client onboarding

  • Research

  • Adviser-to-paraplanner handovers

  • Client communications

  • Internal documentation

  • Review packs

  • Procedures

  • Another recurring task inside your practice

You will use what you have learned during the day to build a first version, test it and improve it.

You leave with: your own workflow, built by you.

What You Will Walk Away With

By the end of the day, you will have:

  • A client experience built from advice content

  • A working meeting-to-file-note Copilot agent

  • A first Copilot workflow built around your own role

  • A better way of prompting and directing Copilot

  • Practical experience testing, improving and reviewing AI outputs

  • A clear idea of where Copilot can create value across your practice

The goal is not to show you everything Copilot can do.

The goal is to help you become genuinely useful with it.

How the Day Works

This is a practical, structured day with plenty of time to build, test and ask questions.

Part 1: See What Is Possible

We start by looking at what Copilot can do when applied to real financial advice work.

You will learn the foundations for getting better results, then complete the first guided build and create a better client experience from advice content.

Part 2: Build Something Reusable

Next, you will build and test a meeting-to-file-note Copilot agent.

This is where we move beyond individual prompts and start creating something you can use again and again.

Part 3: Apply It to Your Own Work

Finally, you will apply what you have learned to a workflow from your own role.

You will have dedicated time to build, test, troubleshoot and improve it, with support in the room.

We finish the day by testing what has been built, sharing ideas and identifying what you will take back into your practice.

You will spend most of the day inside Copilot.

See it → Build it → Apply it.

You arrive with a problem. You leave with something built.

Who This Is For

This workshop is designed specifically for people working inside financial advice practices.

Financial advisers and financial planners
Reduce repetitive work around client meetings, documentation and advice delivery.

Paraplanners
Explore faster ways to work with information, documents and recurring advice workflows.

Client Service Officers
Identify opportunities to reduce administration and improve repeatable processes.

Associate advisers
Build practical AI skills around preparation, documentation and client work.

Practice managers and principals
Understand where Copilot could create capacity across the broader practice.

Attending as a pair or small team can work particularly well because many workflows cross different roles.

This workshop is not for:

  • People looking for AI hacks or shortcuts

  • Technical developers building custom software

  • Anyone wanting AI to make financial advice decisions for them

  • People expecting to sit and watch demonstrations all day

  • Anyone unwilling to build and experiment during the session

Responsible Use

This workshop is not about handing financial advice over to AI.

We focus on using Copilot to support the work around advice while keeping professional judgement, verification and approval with the appropriate people.

You can work with real material from your practice where your firm's policies, Microsoft 365 setup and licensee requirements allow it.

We will cover practical considerations around information handling, accuracy, verification, human review and knowing when not to use AI.

You remain responsible for following your organisation's AI, privacy and information-handling requirements.

FAQs

  • Do I need the paid version of Microsoft 365 Copilot?

    Yes.

You will need a paid Microsoft 365 Copilot (Premium) licence to take part in the hands-on exercises.

The free Copilot Chat experience does not provide all of the capabilities we will use during the workshop.

  • I have only used Copilot a few times. Is that enough?

    Yes.

You do not need to be an advanced user.

We build progressively throughout the day and focus on practical application rather than technical knowledge.

  • I already use Copilot regularly. Will I still get value?

    Yes.

The day is less about basic Copilot features and more about building repeatable workflows, reusable tools and better ways of directing Copilot.

  • Can I work on real client information during the workshop?

    Yes.

One of the benefits of the workshop is that you can apply what you are learning to real work from your own practice.

You are welcome to bring relevant client documents, meeting notes or other material you would like to work with, provided your firm's policies and Microsoft 365 Copilot setup allow you to use that information with AI.

You remain responsible for following your organisation's privacy, information-handling and licensee requirements.

  • Is this about using AI to provide financial advice?

    No.

The focus is on the work around advice delivery.

Copilot can help with drafting, structuring, summarising and transforming information, but professional judgement and appropriate review remain with the people responsible for the work.

  • Can several people from my practice attend?

    Yes.

It can be particularly valuable to attend with someone from another part of your workflow, such as an adviser, paraplanner or client service team member.

There are only 10 places available in total.

  • Is lunch included?

    Yes.

    Lunch and refreshments are included.
