Copper Coast Open Mic Poetry
Event description
Calling all poets and poetry lovers! We’ve created a space for words and community right here on the Copper Coast.
Whether you’re a dabbler, a seasoned performer, or simply curious to listen, all are welcome. Readers and performers should aim for up to 3 minutes (5, if it’s riveting) at the mic, and everyone is asked to honour our one big rule—nothing nasty. Please remember… It’s not novelists’ night!
Our Moonta venue offers great acoustics, a podium, lectern, mic, plenty of seating—and yes, a bar (the drinks kind).
Secure a seatup front, or the chance to perform your poetry by pre-booking on Humanitix (tickets are free, drinks are not). Walk-ins are also welcome. A gold coin donation at the door is appreciated. Proceeds will be gifted to the RSL in thanks for their support with the hall.
We welcome all ages, but please note that adult language and themes may feature.
Join us for our inaugural open mic on Wednesday, 15th October 2025, where we’ll be treated to guest poet and State Open Mic Finalist Nigel Ford as a special highlight.
Our venue is: Moonta RSL Hall, 59 George Street,
Let’s bring poetry and life together on the Copper Coast.
Your hosts for the night are volunteers Heather and David
