About this home

This 1970s split-level brick home in Canberra has been transformed into a more sustainable, all-electric family home. Large north-facing windows let in the winter sun, with summer shade provided by deciduous trees. Over time, gas heating, cooking, and hot water were replaced with electric alternatives—eliminating gas bills. Solar panels, a battery, and smart water heating help power the home efficiently. Sustainable features include a rainwater tank, greywater system, composting, and a solar-heated pool. An EV charger was added for their electric car, and the family embraces reuse, recycling, and ethical living wherever they can.

You will need to book a ticket for a specific tour time. This is due to capacity restraints set by the homeowner to ensure the safety of all parties on the day. If you do not arrive at this time you will not be able to tour the home.

Renew is a small not for profit organisation that needs to raise money from ticket sales to cover the costs of hosting this event. In some cases the ticket revenue may also be split with the homeowner.
