About this home

This renovated 1950s weatherboard home demonstrates how older houses can be transformed into high-performing, energy-efficient dwellings. With airtight construction, high-performance windows, enhanced insulation, and passive solar design, the home now maintains stable indoor temperatures, reduces reliance on heating, and avoids overheating in summer. A heat recovery ventilation system ensures excellent air quality, while the retrofit has significantly reduced energy consumption and running costs, making the home more comfortable and environmentally friendly year-round.

Renew is a small not for profit organisation that needs to raise money from ticket sales to cover the costs of hosting this event. In some cases the ticket revenue may also be split with the homeowner.
