DV-aware
Our nationally accredited DV-aware workshops provide a safe space for you to learn how to recognise and respond confidently to those in crisis.
2-hour DV-aware
This 2-hour workshop provides an introduction to understanding domestic and family violence.
Participants gain an understanding of the initial signs of domestic and family violence, learn how to respond appropriately and where to refer colleagues, friends, and family members if necessary.
This awareness session lays the foundation to understanding and responding to domestic and family violence issues.
What you’ll learn
This training will help you:
- To identify the different signs and forms of abuse that constitute domestic and family violence
- To familiarise yourself with the cycle of violence and Duluth wheels – power and control, equality, and empowerment
- To reflect on and share what you can do if you know someone who is experiencing domestic and family violence
You will also receive tools and references for domestic and family violence support and referral.
Who should attend
DV-aware workshops are available to all members of the community - from the general public to frontline workers.
