About the Artists

Michael Scott-Kahans

Michael began dancing at the age of six, before moving to further his training at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. At age sixteen, Michael moved overseas to train at Tanz Akademie Zurich and European School of Ballet. At eighteen, Michael accepted a supplemental contract with the Alberta Ballet in Canada. He was then promoted to Apprentice, then to Corps De Ballet. He has danced various leading and supporting roles in classical and contemporary ballet works. Some highlights for Michael include ‘Hansel’ in Loughlan Prior’s “Hansel and Gretel”, ‘Tinman’ in the “Wizard of Oz”, ‘Puss in Boots’ in “Once Upon a Time” and the soloist boy in Alysa Piers’ “Skyward”. Michael joined VSB in 2026 and is excited to be performing in his hometown and share his love nationwide as a performer.

Grace Kefford

Originally from Canberra, Grace’s love of dance started very young taking her first ballet class at age two. Grace began full-time training with the Ailey School (Professional Division) in New York City in 2021, where she had the opportunity to train under multiple world-renowned artists. Grace returned to Australia at the beginning of 2023 to join the Victorian State Ballet as a pre-professional artist before joining the corps de ballet in 2024. Grace is currently a demi-soloist with the company. Grace's career highlights with the company so far include the Snow Queen (The Snow Queen), the Magic Carpet (Aladdin), Cogsworth and Bimbettes (Beauty and the Beast), Cygnets (Swan Lake), and Clara and Arabian dancer (Nutcracker). Grace looks forward to continuing to dance with the company.
