September Krefft's Glider Check: Great Southern Bioblitz

Help us collect valuable data for the Great Southern Bioblitz! We invite you to join us to check our hollows for signs of Krefft's gliders. Participants will be able to view the insides of the hollows in real time from camera screens and help us collect and record important data.

Boroondara is teaming up with Councils across Greater Melbourne to participate in the Great Southern Bioblitz to showcase our beautiful biodiversity to the world, while collecting valuable research data. The 2024 Great Southern Bioblitz is running from Friday 20 September to Monday 23 September.

We encourage you to download the free iNaturalist app prior to the event so that you can record your sightings and contribute data to this global citizen science challenge, but this is not essential. You can watch a recording of an iNaturalist app training session to learn more about using the app.

Please wear appropriate shoes for an outdoor walk along uneven ground, and come prepared for cold and wet weather!
