Event description

Come along to this interactive session, where you will be learning more about the Best Practice Guidelines and what other organisations do well in each area.

This session will be packed with tricks and tips to help you effectively manage volunteers at your organisation, and is aimed at novices right through to experts in volunteer management.

Specifically, we will explore what others are doing in the areas of:

  • Recruiting and engaging volunteers

  • Welcoming and onboarding volunteers

  • Volunteer support, leadership, and management

  • Train and grow volunteers

  • Feedback and recognition

  • Celebrate volunteer impact

  • Exiting Volunteers

We will be learning from everyone in the room, including you!

The workshop will be based on the Volunteering New Zealand's 'Best Practice Guidelines.' You can access these 

on our website here.

We will provide you morning tea and a light lunch. You'll be asked your dietary requirements when you register.

Registration is from 9:15am. Entry to venue from Trafalgar Park Lane

About your facilitator:

Wellington based Alison Marshall is about helping others build capability through learning and development.

Ali has over 25 years’ experience in learning and development at a senior level. She has worked in a broad range of industries that includes oil and gas, professional services, retail, education and hospitality. She has worked for large global organisations, start-ups and government. Her talent is being able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
