BOTANICAL MONOPRINTING with Fenja T Ringl
Event description
The process of botanical mono-printing uses plant specimens as templates to create textural artworks on paper. In this three-hour workshop, learn how to prepare and ink up your plants and printing plates, and pass them through an etching press to produce a set of vibrant one-of-a-kind botanical prints. Experiment with colours, layering, stamps and stencils to further personalise your designs. You will go home with a set of finished A4 prints and the skills to continue creating and build upon for further exploration in monoprinting. Suitable for beginners, ages 12+
Dr. Fenja T Ringl 's creative practice is deeply rooted in her academic research in anthropology and paleo-ecology. Inspired by her fieldwork processes, Fenja naturally migrated into printmaking, exploring releif and mono printing first. With continued artistic exploration over 10years, Fenja has expanded her printmaking practice to include solar plate etching and dry point for their ability to convey fine details. Fenja's prints are characterized by their meticulous attention to detail, rich textures, and the careful use of color to evoke the ambiance of the natural enviornment. Her work not only conveys the beauty and significance of her research but also fosters a deeper connection between the audience and the wonders of nature. More info can be found at the link below:
