Do you love mangoes, bananas or guavas but find them expensive to buy? Do you have trouble growing your orange, grapefruit or lemon trees?Â
If so, this workshop is for you.
In this special workshop at Garden Goodness Smithfield, we join Joe and Andrew from Joe's Connected Garden for an in-depth presentation on growing citrus trees and subtropical varieties. Our expert speakers are qualified in horticulture and/or permaculture and speak from decades of experience in fruit growing and as members of the Rare Fruit Society of South Australia.
This workshop will be comprehensive and wide-ranging, and will include the following topics:
- Soil conditions and preparation for planting;
- Protection for young trees and what to do to ensure growth;
- Correct water, fertiliser and mulch for citrus and subtropicals;
- Common pests and diseases and how to combat them;
- The basics of pruning for growth and fruit;
There will be time at the end of the workshop for a Q and A session plus personalised advice from the speakers and your local Garden Goodness team. Please bring along any questions or issues. that we can assist you with resolving.
