Event description

Cyanotype Printing- Catching Images with Sunlight-School Holiday session

Harness the power of the sun to create
beautiful blue prints from found objects. Make images on paper from
found or treasured objects with blue dye and exposure in sunlight.

Cyanotype printing is one of the oldest, simplest, safest and cheapest
alternative photographic processes. The process harnesses the power of
the sun to easily make beautiful blue prints from objects like leaves,
flowers, jewellery, feathers etc. The possibilities are endless. A large
selection of objects will be provided but feel free to bring your own.
Examples are plant cuttings, flowers, lace, small items of glassware
etc.

No prior skills or understanding of photography is required. It is an easy, fun
process that produces relatively quick results and work that is
finished on the day. It is very hands on and anyone can make great
images easily and safely.

Children should bring snacks, lunch and drinks. Age limit 6 -13 years old

Session times 10am-2pm

Dark Arts Photography and Darkroom is supported by Kickstart Arts as part of
