Discover a Marine Sanctuary: Family Beach walk
Event description
Join our parks team on a beachwalk in Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park. Find out about marine park sanctuaries and the Southern Spencer Gulf Marine Park. Learn how to identify animals and plants washed up on the shore and hear a story or two about how weird they are. Discover how marine scientists write underwater by creating your own underwater drawing (without getting your head wet)! Activities suitable for the whole family.

This activity is suitable for families and other visitors wanting to learn more about the marine and coastal environment.
Meeting Point
Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park - Visitor Centre
*Group will then travel in convoy to the beach. Beach location will be chosen on the day based on the weather conditions.
What to Bring:
- Sturdy shoes for walking down steps and along the beach
- Sun protection, Towel, Insect repellent etc
- Clothes that can be rolled up so you can get your feet and hands wet (for the underwater drawing activity!)
- Drinking water
IMPORTANT:
- Vehicle entry to the park is free for registered attendees of Park of the Month events.
- NPWS aims to provide inclusive events and activities for all, however some of our events do have specific requirements for participants. Please see the activity description and accessibility information to check if the event is suitable for you. If you require additional support to participate in the activity, please contact dew.parkofthemonth@sa.gov.au in advance.
- This event will be cancelled in the event of severe/wet weather or declared 'Catastrophic' Fire Danger in the Yorke Peninsula Fire Ban District.
