Event description

WIN!! One of five, Dr Rip's Essential Beach Books! everything you need to know about surf sand and rips.

This fascinating, entertaining and multiple award-winning presentation by Australia’s best known surf scientist, and one of the world's leading authorities on rip currents, Professor Rob Brander is not to be missed.

Nicknamed ‘Dr Rip’ because of his habit of throwing purple dye into rip currents, the presentation covers how beaches work, how to spot deadly rip currents, and importantly how to get out of one.

Keep safe in the surf this summer by understanding your favourite beaches better. You'll learn how to ‘read’ the conditions of the beach and surf by attending this informative and entertaining presentation.

What they said: "Just want to say I’ve been swimming at the beach since I was a toddler. I’m now 57 and found that talk by Dr Rip, just brilliant, learnt the most I have from any presentation on Rips, thanks".
