Description

Ever wanted to learn how artists turn simple lines into beautiful, realistic drawings?

Join me on June 28th at The Press Book House for a fun, immersive afternoon where you'll learn the foundations of drawing and a stunning barn owl in charcoal.

We'll start by unlocking the skills behind great drawing; exploring perspective, three dimensional forms, light, shadow, texture, and the techniques artists use to bring their work to life. I'll guide you with my 3 step method through drawing a magnificent barn owl in charcoal, showing you exactly how to create depth, detail, and those gorgeous soft feathers.

No experience? No problem. This class is designed for beginners, it's approachable, and packed with those magic "I can't believe I drew that!" moments.

For just $30, you'll get:

✨ Expert tuition from Brittany of Britt's Studio
✨ All art materials provided
✨ Charcuterie and refreshments
✨ A beautiful finished artwork to take home
✨ An afternoon of creativity in one of Newcastle's iconic venues

Since launching in 2024, Britt's Studio has welcomed more than 700 students across Newcastle and Sydney, helping people discover that drawing isn't a talent you're born with, it's a skill anyone can learn.

Whether you're looking to try something new, meet like minded people, develop a genuine artistic skill, or simply spend an afternoon doing something wonderfully different, this workshop is for you.

Seats are limited and workshops regularly sell out, so don't leave it too long to grab your spot.

Come for the fundamentals or the barn owl, stay for the creativity, and leave with skills you'll use long after the charcoal dust settles.

FAQs

  • Who is Britt's Studio for?

Britt's Studio workshops are designed specifically for adults and older teens. Classes are paced for mature learners and often feature detailed subject matter, techniques, and reference materials that are best suited to a teenage and adult audience.

These workshops are intentionally created as a calm, focused, and immersive creative experience, allowing participants to relax, explore their creativity, and enjoy uninterrupted time dedicated to art. As such, the venues and workshop formats are not designed to accommodate young children, prams, or childcare needs.

I want to be transparent that this is an intentional choice for my business.

I regularly receive enquiries about children under 12 attending my workshops independently; however, Britt's Studio has been thoughtfully designed for adults and older teens. The workshop atmosphere is created with an adult audience in mind.

My workshops are intended to be a safe haven for those wanting a chance to slow down, learn new skills, and spend a few hours immersed in art. To maintain this experience, the minimum age for participation is 12 years old with a participating adult. I do not offer children's classes or unattended workshops for participants under 12.

For families seeking art classes specifically designed for younger children, I am always going to recommend the amazingly talented Melody Suranyi, who specialises in children's art classes.

I believe there is value in creative spaces designed for different age groups and learning styles. Every creative business serves a different audience, and Britt's Studio exists to provide a welcoming, inspiring, and thoughtfully curated space for adults and teen artists. I appreciate your understanding and look forward to continuing to share the joy of creativity with my growing community.
