Event description

Writing for The Conversation is an excellent way to communicate your research to the general public, and to position yourself as an expert in your field. Authors are regularly contacted by other news media outlets and respected journalists, as well as industry leaders, prospective PhD students, new academic collaborators, government representatives seeking policy advice, and even potential research funders.

Led by Sunanda Creagh, The Conversation's Senior Editor, this session for UTS academics and researchers will cover:

- What is The Conversation?
- Why write for The Conversation?
- What's a story and what's not?
- How to pitch your ideas and modify your writing style for a general audience.

Please note: this event is in person only, however there will be a zoom session held in Oct/Nov. There is also a recording of the Nov 2024 session available on request via newsroom@uts.edu.au
