MID PACE HIKER - Event Leader - Taryn

Our "Mid-Pace Hikers" group strikes the perfect balance between fitness and enjoyment. These hikes are designed for those seeking a challenge without feeling rushed, offering plenty of opportunities to capture photos and appreciate the stunning natural surroundings. They’re ideal for hikers who want to improve their strength and endurance while connecting with like-minded individuals who value the outdoors and the benefits of regular, moderately paced exercise.

Pace: 10-13 minutes per kilometre.

If you're unsure whether this pace suits your fitness level, we recommend starting with our "Relaxed Hiker" hikes, which provide a great introduction to the group and allow you to build confidence at a gentler pace.

Come along with us as we explore the gorgeous Fingal! We’ll follow a scenic trail leading us to the beautiful Boardwalk at Cape Schanck. Have you visited the iconic boardwalk at Cape Schanck? We highly recommend this location for photos, especially.

As we hike along the winding path, we’ll be treated to stunning views of Bass Strait and the soothing roar of the ocean below.

Fingal is a peaceful hidden gem on the Mornington Peninsula, and we’re excited to share it with you. This moderate 8 km hike is sure to inspire you.

Don’t worry if you’re joining solo—most of our hikers do, and we’d love to have you with us! 😉

THINGS TO NOTE:

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE WALK:

- Some inclines

- Uneven ground

- Exceptional views

- Great people

- Improved fitness

- Toilet at the beginning and half way

WHAT TO BRING:

- Water

- Snack. Ie: Banana, high protein snack, Jam sandwich.

- Electrolyte energy drink

WHAT TO WEAR:

- A good pair of walking shoes is necessary, which could be hiking shoes or boots. It is recommended to avoid jogging runners as they may not provide enough grip, although it is not a strict requirement. No open toe shoes.

- Decent socks. Ie: a mix of wool, nylon & elastane. Non bulky (Visit hiking stores)

- Compact jacket

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

This walk is NOT suitable for children (18+), babies in carriers or for people who do not walk more than 5km’s at a time. This is a National Park, therefore no dogs or animals allowed.
