Firstival: The Memory Place - Poetry and Prose Writing Workshop

Join us for a poetry and prose writing workshop run by local poet Caroline Reid.

The Memory Place is for people who want to investigate and write creatively about personal or family history. Working from a memento, treasured object or piece of clothing, participants will be guided through a series of writing exercises to draft a poem or short prose piece. Emphasis is made on slowing down, making connections between strands of memory, sensory observation, and imagination; and adding the element of surprise to your writing. Bring along a treasured object or piece of clothing that you'd like to write about. Paper and pens supplied.

Suitable for ages 17 and up.

Free to attend, with bookings essential.
