The Plastic Detox - Free Community Film Screening

Join the grassroots organisation, the Plasticless People for a free community screening of the eye-opening documentary, The Plastic Detox.

Most of us know about plastic pollution in our oceans, but this film asks a much closer, more personal question: What are everyday plastic-related chemicals doing inside our bodies?

Produced by an Academy Award®-winning team, the film follows six couples navigating unexplained fertility struggles as they embark on a 90-day experiment to dramatically lower their chemical exposure. Guided by leading epidemiologist Dr. Shanna Swan, they swap out everyday items, from kitchenware and personal care to synthetic fabrics, to see if the human body can heal when we remove the invisible pressure of modern plastics.

This isn't a doom-and-gloom film; it’s an empowering, hopeful look at how small, practical lifestyle swaps can create measurable biological shifts in our health, hormones, and overall wellbeing.

The film screening will be followed by refreshements and a discussion with the Plasticless People - a grassroots local community group campaigning for government to ban harmful plastics. The discssion will be an opportunity for community to share their perspectives on the film, learn how they can reduce plastic in their lives and find out more about how they can support the work of the Plasticless People.

The film is rated M and is recommended for mature audiences.
