    Event description

Are you interested in expanding your research horizons and funding opportunities? If so, would you please consider applying for US grants?

The US has a large and diverse research landscape, with many funding agencies and programs that support international collaborations and innovative projects. However, applying for US grants can also be challenging and confusing, especially if you are not familiar with the requirements and expectations of the US system.

To help you navigate the US grant scene, we invite you to join us for an informative and interactive event on Thursday, 15 August, at 10am-11am at the RES Hub (CB02.05.250)  or join online via Teams (Join the meeting now )-Meeting ID: 499 962 105 779 & Passcode: FGgx7u

Through fact-based and data-driven insight and first-hand experiences, you will learn:

    • The benefits and challenges of applying for US grants
    • The differences and similarities between US grants and ARC/NHMRC grants
    • The strategies and best practices for preparing and submitting competitive US grant proposals
    • The resources and support available at UTS for pursuing US grants

You will also hear from panel members who have successfully secured US grants or are on the journey of seeking the US grants or collaborated with US partners. They will share their insights and tips on how to work with US funders and researchers, as well as what to expect from the application and review process.

     Panel members:

    * Dr Chanyeol Yoo (DOD ONR)

    * A/Professor Yuen Yee Cheng (DOD CDMRP)

    * Professor Michael Bremner (DOD DARPA )

    * A/Professor Ben Halkon (DOD ONR)

This event is designed to prepare our academics to uplift their global research strategy to apply for US grants. It is open to all UTS staff and HDR students or anyone interested. We look forward to seeing you there.
