What if the future isn’t something you wait for, but something you interrupt? 

Step into a three-day University of Melbourne ethics approved experimental studio with SWISP Lab and Global South Artist-in-Residence Kriti Aggarwal, where young people come together to rethink climate futures through making, storying, and speculative play. 

This is not a traditional workshop. It’s a living lab that is fast-paced, collaborative, and open-ended where ideas are tested, remixed, and set loose. 

Using the SWISP Lab’s Hacking the Anthropocene (HAKio) kit, you can join just one session or even stay across all six (2-hour sessions) to: 

• Hack systems, stories, and assumptions about climate futures  

• Create speculative artworks, objects, and story fragments  

• Experiment with drawing, collage, AI, and hybrid media  

• Prototype new ways of living, learning, and acting in a changing world  

Here, making is thinking. Small ideas open into large systems, and nothing needs to be finished (but it can be if you want). 

Guided by SWISP Lab artist-in-residence Kriti Aggarwal (artist, filmmaker, and storyteller from India), you’ll work alongside other young people aged 14-30, artists, and researchers to generate bold, unfinished propositions that move beyond fear into imagination, agency, and action. 

This studio doesn’t ask you to solve climate change. It invites you to reimagine what becomes possible in a climate changed world. And your ideas won’t stay contained. They will travel into public studio spaces, global conversations, and the final festival forum. They will ultimately become part of a growing archive of youth-led climate imaginaries. 

No experience needed - just curiosity, urgency, and a willingness to think differently.
