Event description

The soil in our area is notoriously bad! Poor sandy soil, or compacted heavy clay soils are not your friend when you’re trying to grow vegies. Bringing in expensive potting mixes, commercial composts and endless fertilisers is not only unaffordable and unsustainable, but we’re not even sure what is in these industrial products.

Come and learn how to improve your soil naturally with readily available resources that you already have. We’ll be sharing a range of cost effective techniques from home composting to worm farming and creating no dig gardens.

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to make great soil with resources you already have! From no dig gardening to composting, worm farming, trench and in situ composting, you'll be creating beautiful, biodiverse, healthy soil in no time and your garden (and your pocket) will love you for it!

You will have a hands on experience in building a no dig garden bed and a compost pile plus trench composting, in situ composting and worm farming. We provide a delicious morning tea in the beautiful Greenheart Garden, a working permaculture space in the heart of the Bouddi region.
