Join us for this practical workshop, where Jess Vargas and other participants will share their stories and skills about job applications and the challenging journey of finding a decent job in New Zealand.

Jeshica is a trilingual facilitator and community connector who has spent more than a decade supporting migrant and refugee families across Aotearoa. After migrating to New Zealand in 2007, she experienced first‑hand the realities of cultural shock, isolation, and starting again — insights that now guide her empathetic, strengths‑based approach to empowering other women.

Jess has worked across community, corporate, and creative sectors, including roles as a Housing Navigator, Employment Connector, interpreter, and programme coordinator. She holds formal training in refugee resettlement, ESOL home tutoring, and interpreting, and has led initiatives focused on reducing isolation among ethnic women. Jess is passionate about helping women recognise their strengths, build confidence, and navigate pathways to independence and opportunity.
