(Workshop 2 — Held 2 Weeks Later)
After your sculpture has successfully survived the drying process and the initial bisque kiln fire, you will return to the hall on your second scheduled date to bring your art to life with colour.
. Adding Colour and Effects Glaze
1. Painting: You will be taught how to paint different colored ceramic glazes onto your bisque-fired pieces.
2. Decorative Transfers: We will show you how to apply beautiful ceramic transfers onto your work to achieve gorgeous, intricate, and pretty surface patterns.
3. The Final Kiln FireEarthenware Schedule: Once decorated, your pieces will go back into the church kiln for their final glaze firing on an earthenware temperature schedule.
4. The Reveal: This final fire melts the glaze into a beautiful, food-safe, glossy glass finish, making your sculpture completely durable and ready to take home!
🏮 Bonus: Applying Rice Paper Decals (Underglaze Transfers)
Want to add intricate patterns or pretty designs? You will learn how to apply beautiful ceramic rice paper transfers directly to your pieces:
1.The Application: We place the printed side of the decal face-down onto your ceramic piece. Using a lightly damp sponge, we gently press and saturate the back of the paper. This reactivates the oxide ink, transferring the perfect image cleanly onto your artwork without smudging. We then slowly peel the paper backing away.
2.The Glaze Coating: After the transfer design is dry, we coat it with a premium, zinc-free clear mid-firing glaze to encapsulate the image and give it a glassy, professional look.
3.The Final Fire: Your decorated pottery will go into the kiln for its final glaze fire on a mid-fire schedule—specifically fired between Cone 5 and Cone 6 (1200°C to 1240°C). This melts the clear glaze into a permanent, scratch-resistant, food-safe finish that locks your design in forever!

Great Value Rate ; This comprehensive series is priced at an affordable $35 per hour.
Session 1 (Clay Handbuilding); this is a full 3 hour hands on workshop ($105)
If you already have earthenware piece's and just want to glaze or decal come to our second workshop, Session 2. This will only be available if there are spare seats.
Session 2 (Glazing & Rice paper transfers); This takes place 3 weeks later ($105) again a 3 hour workshop
Pay on the day; the remaining balance $55 is payable at the door on the day via cash preferably
- What do I bring?
An apron or wear non preicous clothes.
We will provide refreshments. fruit tea, coffee, juice, biscutes some nibbles. Or BYO nibbles.

Yes we have a 9 spaced car park and street parking.
