Harmonia December
Description
Final gathering for 2025 at Sol Collective, Coffs Harbour.
Harmonia is an inclusive, joyful singing circle held monthly in Coffs Harbour.
Over many years of facilitating group singing, I've developed specific techniques for helping people discover that harmony is a learnable skill. The method is straightforward. Simple melodic loops, gentle repetition, careful sequencing that allows voices to find each other without the cognitive load of reading music or memorising lyrics.
Within an hour, I can get a room of diverse voices weaving three and four-part harmonies that surprise them. Many arrive uncertain about their ability to sing. The ear-learning approach works consistently across skill levels and backgrounds, creating the conditions for voices to relax, open, and blend.
The experience is physiological as much as musical. Controlled breathing activates the vagus nerve. Harmonising with others creates measurable stress reduction. The focused attention required interrupts anxious thought patterns. You leave feeling different because your nervous system responds to this.
Harmonia in Coffs Harbour now has eighty regular participants. This growth reflects years of understanding how human voices work together and how to guide them there. It's not about having perfect pitch or prior training. It's about being present with your breath and allowing your voice to find its place in the collective sound.
This December session is our final gathering for the year!
