Homegrown Road Trip Tour 2025 | Whakatane
Event description
Some of today’s most exciting homegrown talents are heading on tour – Hori Shaw and Shane Walker, with support from Te Wehi, are heading to 10 Kiwi towns and cities this winter.
The tour, the Homegrown Road Trip, will head to Gisborne, Whakatane, Tauranga, Kaitaia, Hamilton, Rotorua, Napier, Palmerston, New Plymouth and Wellington over four weekends in June, July and August.
Hori Shaw, Shane Walker and Te Wehi are arguably three of the most popular Kiwi artists in music right now, with all three taking the top three spots on the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Singles Chart. Te Wehi’s cover of Allen Stone’s Unaware; Hori Shaw’s Back in My Arms; and Shane Walker’s Coasty Girl has charted at 1, 2 and 3.
Now, all three are joining forces for the Homegrown Road Trip. Tickets go on sale at 6pm on Thursday, May 8 and are expected to sell out. AfterPay and Zip Pay are both available!
Homegrown Road Trip is Hori Shaw’s first headline tour in NZ, and with hearty supporters all around Aotearoa, these shows are all highly anticipated.
Hori Shaw has been a major part of New Zealand’s music scene since he released Country Roads in 2023 and his success has continued with further hits Back in My Arms; Shawfyah; and One Day, all released last year. Back in My Arms is arguably his biggest release so far, securing a spot on NZ’s Official Top 40 Singles chart, and a number one spot on the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Singles chart.
Shane Walker and Te Wehi are also making their mark, also securing spots on NZ’s Official Top 40 Singles chart – Shane Walker with Coasty Girl and Te Wehi with Unaware. These releases have also reached the number one spot on the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Singles chart.
Since releasing FX*K You Too, Shane Walker has been cementing his place as a powerhouse in today’s music. Coasty Girl has dominated airwaves and his subsequent single Waimā Girl is also making its way up the charts right now.
Te Wehi’s cover of Unaware has been hugely popular and on April 4 it reached number one on the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Singles chart, where it remained for the rest of the month.
