innerdance is not a typical dance event nor your typical sound healing. Participants begin laying down, often experiencing the dance internally, though external movement is also welcome.

innerdance utilises unique sound & frequency combinations combined with touch & gentle trigger mechanisms to bring people into a wakeful REM state.

Why dream awake?

REM (Rapid Eye Movement) is the part of our sleep cycle associated with dreaming.

The REM phase is also known as paradoxical sleep as more of our brain is active in this phase than during our typical waking hours.

We actually go to sleep to wake something up!

It is during REM that much of our cognitive processing & integrating occurs, aiding memory, immune function & mood.

Modern life interferes with our natural circadian rhythms through the bombardment of artificial EMFs, artificial lighting, stimulant laden foods, screens, social media & chronically elevated cortisol levels resulting in disrupted sleep and shorter or absent REM cycles.

We sleep approx. 1/3 of our lives yet most of that time is spent balancing out accumulated stress.

innerdance provides an opportunity to restore the altered brain rhythms of our modern, dopamine driven lives, so we are no longer bouncing from stimulant to suppressant, seeking activities and substances that will either wake us up or bring us down.

The nervous system balances out and one experiences a state of peaceful alertness.

All a participant need do is lay down and trust the movement of their own inner intelligence, an ancient wisdom which evolved in harmony with the Earth. When we give this intelligence within us permission it is capable of reorganising our physiology & returning us to a natural state of flow and interconnectivity.

This is the dance! Guided by our inner wisdom and in resonance with a planet whose intelligence & dreaming we are an extension of.
