Event description

Kedmah Brooklyn Piyyut Circle

Join us for our monthly Brooklyn Piyyut Circle—a musical gathering where we immerse in singing the piyyutim--sacred poetry--of Sephardic & Mizrahi Jewish traditions. Led by Rabbi Yosef Goldman, with Josh Kaye.

These sacred songs are a powerful gateway into Jewish spiritual experience—sometimes unfamiliar, yet deeply resonant, like discovering new rooms in the mikdash of our collective heart.

No prior knowledge is needed—just a love for music and an open heart. Whether you come to reconnect or to learn anew, or to reconnect, this singing space is for you.

📅 Wednesday, June 11th, 7:30– 8:45 PM
📍 Luria Academy Upper School - 664 Bergen St.
🎟️ $18

This will be our last piyyut circle for the season. We'll regroup in late summer / early fall.

🌟 Be part of this growing community! Join us and share this event with friends. If you'd like to help us grow, including volunteering at our circles, please be in touch.

🎶 Exploring your own Sephardic or Mizrahi heritage
🎶 Curious about the diversity of Jewish identity and culture
🎶 Excited for deep Jewish learning in a spiritually rich space

What is Piyyut?
Piyyut is the living heartbeat of Jewish tradition—where poetry meets melody, and prayer becomes song. It carries the voices of generations, weaving together longing and joy, the sacred and the everyday, to create a timeless bridge between past and present, earth and the Divine.
