Kids Classes

Your child is invited to create their own art and have fun running and playing on the grass and under the trees of the Tamworth Craft Centre, with the help of of some of Tamworth's most experienced art educators. In addition to their own practice as professional artists, Danny Stanley and Sophie Honess have been teaching the young and old of Tamworth for years, at schools, the regional gallery, Gomeroi Culture Academy and more: and we work with some of the most promising young artists in the region.

Our students will gain art skills such as hand-eye coordination, observation and many different artistic techniques and mediums; as well as gaining confidence in self-expression and creativity, and making friends with like-minded kids. Our classes feature calming background music; a variety of fun cartoon figures for kids to use as reference and inspiration; a large selection of kid-friendly art books, and a generous 20 minute break in the middle of class, to pass a ball around, play a game, or just eat a snack under the on the lovely grounds at Tamworth Craft Centre.

Who is this for?

These classes are for kids who enjoy creating art, such as drawing, painting and sculpting.

Venue

Held at The Tamworth Craft Centre, home to an array of crafts such as woodturning, weaving, lapidary, metal work and much more, as well as access to a large grassy fenced courtyard area for kids to play on.

Come & Try

We are introducing a new option for kids who have never tried this class before and would like to see if it is for them. If you purchase a Come & Try ticket, you can choose a session, first or otherwise, to come and try the class out. If you would like to proceed with the rest of the term, you can pay us for the remaining classes.

Afterpay is available for all Tamworth Art Academy courses. In addition, we are happy to accept payment plans for all of our courses. If you would like to do a payment plan with us, or you would like to pay in full but not pay the Humanitix booking fee, please transfer to:
