Learn To Play The Ukulele 🎶

It's never too late to learn something new! This relaxed 4‑week course is designed for adult beginners, and no music knowledge is required!

Across four Saturday afternoons, you’ll learn how to hold and tune your ukulele, essential basic chords and how to transition between them, how to read chord charts, how to practice and develop muscle memory, strumming and picking patterns and playing along to well‑known songs + a whole lot more! 🎶 The sessions are hands‑on, friendly, and paced to support absolute beginners in a small‑group environment.

Course Dates (4 x Saturdays) 2.30pm to 4.30pm:

Full Course Fee:

$175 — includes workbook

Supported Ticket: For those who need a little flexibility, a choose‑your‑price option is available. Simply select the Supported Ticket and enter an amount that feels manageable, with a minimum of $80 to help cover basic costs.

The Finer Details:

The course will be held in the Meeting Room at the Tramshed Arts and Community Centre, Narrabeen (Historic Tram right out front!), Entry is via the side of the building just past the cafe, and the meeting room is the first door on the right as you enter the building.

Parking

Free parking in the Berry Reserve car park beside the playground and lagoon. Unrestricted on‑street parking nearby.

By Bus

A very short flat walk from the Narrabeen B-Line Terminus (B1/B2).

About Your Teacher:

Hello! My name is Janet Raine and I love sharing the joy of playing the ukulele! The ukulele is wonderfully accessible — easy to learn, portable, uplifting, social, and fun — and it welcomes players of all ages and abilities. I’ve been playing for over ten years now, but I began exactly where many beginners start: as a complete novice with no musical background at all. Learning the ukulele opened up a whole new world of creativity, confidence, and connection for me, and that experience shapes the way I teach today.

My beginner‑friendly classes focus on getting you playing quickly, even if you’ve never picked up an instrument before. The ukulele is a wonderful companion — and I’m here to guide you with patience, encouragement, and plenty of fun along the way.
