Learn to Surf, Boogie Board, Body surf + beach safety combo – for kids
This popular activity promises to give kids a taste of a range of ocean activities while keeping them safe.
Activities to include surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing and beach safety - exact activities will depend on the conditions on the day.
Professional instructors will teach children about waves and the beach, and importantly how to stay safe. Adults are welcome to participate but need to be aware that lessons will be structured around children’s learning abilities. Wetsuits and all equipment is provided.
Meet at Let’s Go Surfing Maroubra Surf School, 7 Marine Parade, Maroubra.
Please arrive 20 minutes prior to the lesson start time for registration and wetsuit fittings. Wear swimmers and sunscreen and bring a towel. Surfboards are provided.
Conditions of booking
- Minimum age 8 years
- Children must be able to swim a minimum of 100 metres
- Children under 16 years must have a parent or adult guardian in attendance during the lesson.
Photographs, videos and voice recordings
Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:
- educational or community information purpose
- Council displays and promotions of community education events
- to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.
If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.
This activity may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings, NSW health orders or poor weather. Participants will be advised in the event the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care has been made in the preparation of the 2024 Marine and Coastal Discovery Program but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities that are cancelled 48 hrs prior to the event start and in the event of cancellation by Council.
