About Your Facilitators

Jo and John offer something truly unique—a couple working together in the healing space, grounded in lived experience, deep trust, and mutual growth. Their collaborative facilitation draws on both personal and professional experience, bringing together relational depth, systemic awareness, and a calm, steady presence that holds participants with care and confidence.

Jo brings a compassionate and holistic approach to healing. With a background in teaching, postgraduate studies in counselling and guidance, and training in Reiki and Yin Yoga, she creates a nurturing, intuitive space where participants feel deeply supported and seen. Her work is grounded in honouring each person’s unique path and capacity to transform.

John is a trained facilitator in Family Constellation Therapy, bringing a steady and grounded presence to every retreat. His background in carpentry reflects his values and deep connection to nature. A former BMX racer and keen mountain biker, John brings both practicality and lightness into the space. His love for sustainable living and mindful building complements the healing journey, offering a solid foundation for others to explore, release, and reconnect.

Together, Jo and John have been walking life’s path as partners for over 26 years. Their shared experience infuses each retreat with authenticity, integrity, and heartfelt care. This creates a retreat space that feels safe, real, and deeply held—where participants are invited not just to witness their own patterns, but to feel supported by a living example of relational resilience and connection.

Our retreat will be held at the stunning Kula in Muriwai – https://www.kulamuriwai.co.nz/ Immerse yourself in the fresh ocean air and breathtaking views of the Tasman Sea. It feels like you’re standing on the edge of the earth. You'll be nourished with Vegan, GF grounding, soulful meals provided by Family Balance NZ.
