Portrait Painting Workshop - Oil Painting in Monochrome - Your Choice of Portrait

Ballina Artist Brett Belot is one of Australia’s premier sports and portrait artists.

As part of his painting process Brett often starts with an underpainting in monochrome to capture nuance of light and shadow. This process allows the artist to not be distracted by color but to focus on subject matter, composition and tone.

In this fun and engaging workshop, you will learn the painting technique by which an image is executed entirely in shades of grey (or another monochrome colour).

What to bring!

• A4 Black and White printed portait photo
• Canvas/Board (40 x 30cm)
• Brushes of various sizes
• Rag
• Palette and Palette knife
• Note: Oil paints and liquin medium will be supplied (You can also bring you own favourites!)
