Real World Innovators | Sustainable Futures Co - Design
Event description
Imagine a city with vertical gardens, indoor farms, renewable energy sources and sprawling green spaces as far as the eye can see!
Logan City Council’s Real World Innovators series gives students the opportunity to apply their innovative thinking and enterprising skills to a challenge aligned to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With a focus on collaboration, problem solving and communication, these fun and engaging sessions are designed to challenge students to think outside the box and bring real-world context through expert industry mentorship and masterclasses.
This session of the series focuses on sustainable design and how we might tackle challenges such as food production, waste and recycling. With a big push for sustainability and environmental responsibility, our cities around the world are working hard to ensure that they are clean, green and environmentally friendly places to live and work.
Over one action packed day we will be working with industry leaders to develop sustainable design solutions. Looking at ways to reduce non- recyclable waste, increase upcycling, and tackle overconsumption; the participants of this program will be having their say in what sustainable innovatives should look like now and in the future.
To help participants build and pitch their ideas we will be hearing from members of industry currently working in the sustainability space, as well as participating in masterclasses to develop our ideas and the skills we need to be able to pitch these ideas by the end of the day.
This is a fun and interactive day designed to give you the opportunity to have your say when it comes to sustainable innovatives!
