Rejoice Gospel Choir | End of Year Concert
Event description
7:30pm, Albert Palais, 30•11•23
Rejoice Gospel Choir is a community of singers taking part in the rich tradition of gospel choir music and bringing it to the community of Sydney’s Inner & South West. The founders, Tash & Luke are passionate about the message of gospel music which is about faith in uncertainty and hope in pain.
We acknowledge the history of gospel music, born out of the oppression of African American people, and are committed to learning from the people, communities and experiences that shaped gospel music and its message of resilient hope. We also acknowledge the Gadigal and Wangal people, who's land we meet on, traditional Custodians of the land on which we will meet, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.
This event is wheelchair accessible.
A cafe will be open on premises from 6:30pm, and the bar open from 7pm. There is no substantial food at either of these options, but Leichhardt has an array of dinner options.
"The group’s first public performance ... had a sold-out audience that ended the evening on their feet." Sydney Morning Herald
