Event description

The four Greater Hobart Councils - Hobart, Glenorchy, Clarence and Kingborough - work together on a number of key initiatives. One of those initiatives is the establishment of new passenger ferry terminals on the River Derwent to support an expanded ferry service.

This initiative builds on the very popular ferry service that currently operates between Bellerive and Sullivans Cove.

The Greater Hobart Councils secured Australian Government funding for the project and are working to secure locations, design and build terminals at Lindisfarne, Wilkinsons Point and Sandy Bay.

The Councils are working closely with the Tasmanian Government who will operate the expanded ferry service.

Glenn Doyle is a Project Manager with the City of Hobart and has responsibility for the development of the terminals which will be developed across the three Council areas.
