Description
Welcome to Soul Strokes : Brush, Sip, Sound and Dip!
3 hours of mindful creativity and soul deep nourishing connection - to art, food, sound and others.
Hosted by me, Donnelle at Wilu Sound and Energy : and Vanessa - Contemporary Artist @ Vanessa McKenzie Art.
Friends since 5, we are finally teaming up professionally to host these 3 hours of painting, drinking (non-alcoholic) eating, sound, +/- sunset ocean dip, with a bit of fun in a relaxed atmosphere.
Why come?
Because we know life is busy, with at times, a lot of stress and overstimulation.
We need to make time for ourselves to be mindful, to slow down, because we know the endless benefits this has on our wellbeing...
Benefits of Painting to Wellbeing
Painting is a mindful practice that can help you focus on the present moment. As you notice the colors, shapes, and movement of your brush, you can let go of distractions and enjoy the process without worrying about the final result. Each stroke becomes a chance to pause, breathe, and express what you feel, making painting a calming way to nurture creativity and well-being.
Research suggest that painting and other creative activities, can help lower cortisol levels (our stress hormone) after just 45 minutes.
What is Sound Healing and how can it help Wellbeing
Sound Healing has been present in cultures for thousands of years. The benefits of sound on human cells are scientifically documented (quantum physics) - as much as it is seen an alternate form of healing. Sound healing uses sound wave frequencies to create a process called entrainment. At a cellular level, this incites a synchronistic resonance within them.
Sound offers therefore a deeply restorative way to help to quiet mental chatter, reduce stress, and encourages a meditative state without requiring effort or experience. Many people find it helps support emotional release, improves sleep and general well-being.
By creating space to simply rest and receive, sound healing becomes a gentle yet powerful way to reconnect with yourself and to connect body, mind, soul.
The day includes:
Under the gentle guidance of Vanessa, you will complete a canvas art to paint and take home with you. There will be a choice to paint either a flower or ocean theme, as you sip gourmet mocktails.
After the painting, we will stop to enjoy a nourishing grazing platter for afternoon tea and connect with others in relaxed conversation.
You will then be guided to lie down on mats provided in the Wilu Sound Cabin garden. Beginning with a short 10-minute guided grounding meditation, we will enter into 45-60 minutes of sound healing. Oracle cards also offered afterwards.
Then if called, we will each travel to the local Quinns Beach where we will have do a sunset dip, weather and conditions permitting. (Even if it is a foot dip, it's a refreshing way to end the day.)
