Tablelands Social Enterprise/Indigenous Business Workshop and World Café
Event description
This workshop will be useful for community-based businesses, Indigenous businesses, community organisations and neighbourhood centres that are trying to be more self-reliant. This workshop will involve strengths-based participatory approaches to explore the needs and opportunities for social enterprises in and around the Tablelands. It will also include a presentation with examples on the nature, value and need of social enterprises in Far North Queensland. This will be followed by participant yarning and a World Café format that will focus on community priorities and the place of social enterprises in the local community. Community owned enterprises, regional and sustainable employment generation as well as culturally appropriate approaches will be among the discussion areas. This will also be a useful workshop to identify linkage opportunities for existing social enterprises for training, funding, and capacity building after the workshop
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Narayan and Destiny Dewis.
