The Social Glue of Sydney Exhibition Opening Day - Meet and Make

Please feel welcome to join The Social Glue "Meet-and-Make-and-Cake" on the Opening Day of our group exhibition.
This hands-on celebration of the art of collage follows the Opening Night on Friday May. All are welcome to come to either or both, but we would appreciate you notifying us of your interest in attending.
The show can be viewed from 10am - 4pm. If you'd like to come make with us, we will be conducting our usual Saturday session of 3 hours focussed practice from 12-3pm.
About us:
The Social Glue of Sydney is a dedicated collage-making group that emphasises practice around a communal table and the applied study of the collage form.
We understand that serious art-making is hampered by three huge impediments: time to make/space to make/money to make. In the design of The Social Glue, we attempt to address all three.
A dedication to paper-and-glue collage practice is the glue that binds the attendees.
Exhbiting artists include:
Mia Ardianto, Jacqui Biffin, Kathryn Bird, Nicole Buckland, Anne Chestnut, Alice Crawford, Amanda Holt, Bettina Kaiser, Mandy King, Zoe Sadokierski, and other artists of the Social Glue of Sydney.
Exhibition Dates: 9 - 24 May 2026 (Thurs-Sun, 10am-4pm)

The Inner West Council supports this exhibition through the provision of the Chrissie Cotter Gallery, and City of Sydney supports The Social Glue of Sydney through the provision of time in the Alexandria Town Hall for 4 sessions a month.

FAQs
- Do I need to bring anything to the "Meet and Make" on the Opening Day of The Social Glue exhibition?
We will provide glue and paper materials for collaging, but if you have blank backgrounds you wish to work or books and images that you'd like to use or donate to our stash, please bring them along. We prefer if you bring and keep custody of your own sharps - scalpels, cutting knives, scissors - and if you have a cutting mat to bring that would be appreciated.
