Living Soil and Water Capture
Event description
Are you looking to get more out of your property? Would you like to learn to work with nature and reduce your workload over time? Concerned about climate change?
Permaculture is a design theory that is used to live in balance with, and restore, nature. It helps to change the way we perceive what we see and make different decisions. It is about recognising patterns in nature and adapting them to your context and is guided by ethics.
In this workshop we will be looking at how to build and protect soil. We will also look at water in our environment and on the land. The workshop will include;
- Water cycles in nature
- Soils in and around Toodyay
- Soil versus dirt - what is it made of?
- The soil food web
- Soil testing - simple ways to find out about your soil
- Ways to improve your soil
- Contours and water movement
- Building and using an A frame level
We will be mostly outside for this workshop, please come prepared for the weather.
Please bring something vegetarian to share for lunch. Tea and coffee provided.
