The system is broken. The promises that were made to us are no longer being kept. We were promised that studying hard and working harder would secure a future worth having. But no matter how many jobs we obtain or how qualified we are, we’re all barely staying afloat.

Creatives refuse to work for conglomerates that care more about turning profits than cultivating the arts. This leaves us the margins and footnotes of every conversation - and we left a lot unsaid in our past show week.

This March’s Te Wiki Āhua o Aotearoa FW25 continues to focus on promoting and platforming emerging and early career artists from all areas of Aotearoa’s creative scene.

‘Three’ by Weiwen and PURE FROM EVIL delves into the ethereal and surreal, exploring the realms of Heaven, Purgatory, and Hell through a transcendent lens. With layers of whites and beiges symbolizing purity and ascension, silvers and light purples representing transition, and deep reds pulsing with the chaos of Inferno, the collection masterfully blends the celestial with the chaotic. Hand-sewn and crocheted details add texture, grounding the otherworldly designs in meticulous craftsmanship.

Each piece in ‘Three’ embodies transformation, blurring the lines between the sacred and the alien, the known and the unknown, creating a truly otherworldly aesthetic that invites the wearer to explore the space between realms
