All about e-bikes - information and test riding session
Event description
Electric bikes (e-bikes) are becoming more and more popular. They are stylish and affordable with great battery life options. E-bikes improve health and wellbeing, are a cheap form of sustainable transport, enable family and friends of mixed fitness level and cycling abilities to spend time outdoors together, and empower the aging population and people with disability or illness to remain active and mobile.
In this session, e-bike expert, Thijs (Tyse) van der Heijden will explain the ins and outs of e-bikes to help you decide whether an e-bike is the right option for you, and which type best suits your needs.
Thijs will cover:
- What is an e-bike - pedal-assist and throttles.
- Types and styles - step-through, compact, cargo, folding, MTB, road.
- E-bike systems - hub drive and centre drive.
- Gearing options - internal and external.
- Battery life and charging.
- Transporting and taking care of your e-bike.
You will have an opportunity to test ride an e-bike. Helmets will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own.
Come along and go into a draw to win a one week free trial of an e-bike of your choice!
