The MoWaNa Breathwork Sessions - Early Bird Season Pass - Sale Ended
Event description
In partnership with Elucilium, MoWaNa invites you to experience the transformative power of Breathwork.
In recent years, Breathwork has exploded in popularity; this represents a reemergence of techniques embedded in Eastern traditions such as Yoga and Chi Gung. These traditions have long recognised the central role of breath in managing our physical and mental state. Modern Breathwork combines these traditional practices with a science-backed understanding of the human nervous system, physiology and neuroscience.
The sessions are convened by Mowana volunteer, founder of Elucilium and long-term Breathwork practitioner Tony Moran. Each session in the series will be led by a different expert facilitator based here on the Northern beaches. Each facilitator brings their own unique experience and colour to this wonderful practice. By participating in the series, you will benefit from this diversity of practice and find the styles and exercises that suit you best.
Please bring a Yoga Mat and a cushion pillow or yoga block high enough to sit on; you'll be most comfortable in loose-fitting and warm clothes.
Session 1 June 12th Introduction to Breathwork - Tony Moran featuring Vanessa Fernandez
Tony will introduce the principles of Breathwork and unpack the science behind how it works. Tony is a gifted communicator and will elucidate these principles in a clear and accessible way. Participants will gain an understanding of how breathwork can be deployed to improve both mental and physical states. Participants will also be invited to participate in basic Breathwork exercises designed to strengthen awareness of the physiology of breathing and prepare participants for the following sessions.
Session 2 June 19th David Pemberton - The Breathing Coach
David is a restorative Breathing Coach trained in Buteyko Breathing Method and Oxygen Advantage, a Practitioner of NLP, also certified through Breathless Expeditions David will bring his unique approach to Breathwork combining meditation, affirmations, NLP and hypnosis along with varying breathing techniques including Kriya, which will leave you with an inner clarity, presence, joy and an enhanced sense of self.
Session 3 June 26th Mal Stephens - Narraprana
Mal is the founder of Narraprana a Breathwork community that meets most Sundays at Turriametta Beach. For the past 5 years, Mal has poured his passion and energy into this group and has developed a refined and unique method of delivery that has inspired many of the more recent practitioners of this art. As a master of his craft Mal will help you access an inner "State of Origin" and you can even get home in time to watch the footy if that's your thing.
Session 4 July Elise Griffin - SoulBreath
Bringing some gender balance to the sessions and proving that not all Breathwork facilitators are male, Elise will guide you through her own unique breath experience. Elise founded SoulBreath with the mission to bring people together in community & connection. Through the creation of this safe & transformational space, & the implementation of somatic practices to connect breath, body & mind, deep healing can occur.
John Ireland - 10th July Breathwork HQ
Rounding out the series will be John Ireland, founder of Breathwork HQ. John will be fresh back from travels where his thirst for breathwork knowledge has taken him to Europe to work with some of the leading luminaries in the field, including Patrick McKeown (Oxygen Advantage) Dan Brule and Steph Magenta, including trauma-informed somatic principles. John has completed two master facilitator accreditations, being Australia's Breathwork pioneer and luminary Johannes Egberts (Breathless) and Seven Directions Breathwork (UK)
